Indigenous Services press conference has ‘cool Easter eggs’: Philpott

January 24, 2018

The Minister of the newly created federal Indigenous Services department said the press event held in Ottawa on Tuesday had numerous hints and hat-tips to its sister government branch, Crown-Indigenous Relations.

“If you play back the press conference and watch very closely, you’ll find all sorts of cool Easter eggs,” said a gleeful Jane Philpott.

“I don’t want to give too much away but there’s never before seen funding streams, new bureaucrats and even previously unexplored levels of reconciliation.”

A government spokesperson said that laserdisc and VHS copies of the press conference will be available in stores soon.

However, some Indigenous activists, who’ve already obtained digital copies through file sharing websites, claim that if you play the press conference backwards Canada fully implements and honours the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the new government departments simply disappear.
