The Assembly of First Nations has mistakenly signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with itself at a meeting in Ottawa on Thursday, the organization announced.
“We’ve kind of been on a roll with these MOUs and I don’t have all the details but yeah, we’ve entered into some kind of agreement with ourselves,” said National Chief Perry Bellegarde.
“It’ll be okay, it’s fine. I think.”
A spokesperson from the AFN said the group’s lawyers are going over the MOU to see what legal implications, if any, there are and if there’s a way out of it.
