A shirtless and suddenly buff Clément Chartier caused a stir during meetings at Parliament Hill on Thursday.
The president of the Métis National Council was taking part in meetings about the most recent federal budget but most of the talk turned to his dramatically transformed physique.
“I get it, you’ve been working out but we’re supposed to be focused on the federal government’s fiduciary responsibility,” said a visibly annoyed Natan Obed.
“He should really wear a shirt or at least a beaded vest.”
Chartier, 72, credited regular exercise and a high-bison diet for his new muscular body.
Following the meeting, Assembly of First Nations National Chief Perry Bellegarde was spotted at a local butcher shop filling a shopping cart with packages of bison meat.
