Wiping tears from his face, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau rose in the House of Commons on Monday and announced that exoneration is a luxury he can never afford himself.
“I decree that any First Nations Chiefs who were brutally hanged a century ago are fully exonerated of any crime or wrongdoing,” Trudeau told his fellow politicians and the country itself.
“But the only one I cannot exonerate is myself…in here,” the Prime Minister added, pointing to his heart.
A wolf was heard howling hauntingly in the distance and some in Parliament swear they even detected a gentle shaking of a rattle and perhaps even Liberal MP Robert-Falcon Ouellette singing an honour song to the very wind.
