R’Diabo, the leader of an insurrectionary faction of Indigenous people, is challenging King P’Bellegarde to ritual combat for the title of King of AFNanda.
The renegade R’Diabo made the challenge for the throne before the AFNanda executive committee, who had gathered in front of a waterfall considered sacred to the organization.
“It is challenge day,” R’Diabo told King P’Bellegarde. “We have watched from the mountains while your political advancements have been overseen by a child who scoffs at sovereignty.”
When P’Bellegarde accepted the challenge, the executive committee began singing and dancing while others shouted “AFNanda forever!”
The ritual combat is scheduled to take place at the Vancouver Convention Centre in June.
