Juggalo Chiefs threaten to leave Assembly of First Nations

A group of Juggalo Chiefs is threatening to break off from the Assembly of First Nations, saying the organization no longer represents them.

“Just because we like the music of Insane Clown Posse, Dark Lotus and Killjoy Club and choose to live the Juggalo lifestyle, does not mean we are not leaders who work tirelessly for our communities,” said Bruce Nelson, Chief of the Mistatim First Nation in Northern Manitoba.

“Our needs would be better served with perhaps a new organization.”

Chief Nelson was flanked by three others but claims there are at least 16 other First Nations Juggalo leaders that will join them unless they are taken more seriously by the organization and their non-Juggalo colleagues.

The threat of a political fraction comes at a difficult time for the Assembly of First Nations, which represents over 630 First Nations — if you include the Juggalos — and which chooses a new leader later this month.

A spokesperson for the organization said that National Chief Perry Bellegarde, who is seeking re-election, is doing his best to hear the concerns of the Juggalos and will be listening to the entire roster of Psychopathic Records in the coming days.
