Indigenous-themed costumes ok after online commenter says ‘I’m native and I’m not bothered’

Hundreds of thousands of Indigenous people will no longer denounce ‘Native American-themed’ Halloween costumes because an anonymous Twitter user claims to be okay with them.

“Yeah, well, I’m native and I’m not bothered by it,” wrote a Twitter user whose profile picture is blank and whose name contains mostly numbers.

It’s the single largest turn of opinion by the Indigenous community since ‘native mascots’ were given a greenlight after media interviewed a random Indigenous guy who didn’t oppose them.
