Three people line up for Boxing Day blowout in remote First Nations community

December 26, 2018

Three people braved frigid temperatures on the Crow River First Nation in northern Manitoba, some for as long as seven minutes, to get first grabs at the Nothern Shop’s Boxing Day blowout.

“Ah, man, $18.99 for a slightly brown head of cauliflower,” said Ernest Wilson, who waited three minutes in line.
“That’s slightly less expensive than usual.”
Staff at the Northern Shop told reporters that they were expecting pandemonium, like the yearly Black Friday but that everything was actually running smoothly.
Officials said that a reported minor scuffle ended up being someone accidentally bumping an elbow when reaching for a bag of frozen panzerotti, on sale for $38.99.
