In a stunning development, Canada’s nearly 25-million white people are divided on whether appearing in brownface is okay or bad.
“We’ve reached an unprecedented impasse on this issue,” said Lily Leblanc, lead spokesperson for white people.
“I’ve never seen us so divided.”
The news comes in the wake of revelations that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appeared in brown and blackface at parties in the 1990s and early 2000s, before entering politics.
Leblanc told reporters that a summit aimed at breaking the impasse will be held in the coming days that’s expected to include all 25-million white people who live in 5,162 cities, municipalities, districts, towns, townships, villages, hamlets spread across 12 provinces and territories in Canada.
