Even though CN already announced it would lay off 1,600 workers beginning in 2019 because of a weakening economy, the company is still blaming Mohawk blockades for a recent round of staff cuts.
“It’s obvious that a group of wily time-travelling Mohawks went back to as early as 2018 and began blocking tracks in support of the Wet’suwet’en, making our work impossible,” CN spokesperson Ernest Filatore told reporters.
“So as you can clearly see, this situation is beyond our control.”
CN also said that even though it posted $3,544 million in revenues for 2019, Mohawks travelled back in time and cast some kind of a magic spell that makes it impossible for the company to use any of that money to help its workers.
