Haida tattoo announces split from Trudeau

Justin Trudeau’s Haida tattoo has announced it’s parting ways with the Prime Minister, just hours after police arrested Mohawks in Tyendinaga and Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs in British Columbia.

The thunderbird tattoo, a replica of artist Robert Davidson’s work, has been on Trudeau’s arm since 2011.

“How can I sit here when this guy is squawking about reconciliation while Indigenous people are being arrested for trying to protect their land?” the thunderbird told reporters outside the Prime Minister’s Ottawa office.

“The answer is that I can’t, and I won’t. This bird is flying.”

The thunderbird tattoo has spoken out against its host in the past including in 2018, when it was heard trying to tear itself from Trudeau’s arm after the Prime Minister announced support for the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion while simultaneously touting the need for action on climate change.
