A new report suggests that every single person using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and even Tik Tok is now an expert on science, culture, society and politics.
The explosive report, Everyone Knows Every Damn Thing, was released on Monday.
“Just go on social media and you’ll see it flooded with people who are suddenly highly-educated epidemiologists and know everything about Covid-19 and how governments should respond,” said lead author Bianca Pillada.
“But you probably already knew that since you f—ing know everything.”
However, the roots of this sudden fountain of world knowledge may go back to the weeks leading up to the pandemic when everyone was suddenly experts on First Nations governance and law amid the conflict between supporters of the Wet’suwet’en and Canada.
