RCMP say investigators playing ‘fun game of hide and seek’ with people who witnessed man drive truck into crowd of Indigenous people

RCMP in Mission, BC. say a seemingly purposely stalled investigation into a man who drove a truck through a crowd of Indigenous people on a residential schools memorial march has actually been turned into a ‘fun game of hide and seek.’

“I know it seems like we’re just ignoring people coming forward with videos and statements about the incident, but it’s actually a fun game!” said an RCMP spokesperson, hiding behind a bush outside the detachment.

“Investigations are pretty boring so our officers thought they’d shake things up, so if you can find our investigators, you can make a statement.”

RCMP say the hide and seek investigation method is only being applied to cases involving Indigenous people who are victims of crime at this time.

However, the game of hide and seek was briefly interrupted when a First Nations man was spotted jaywalking and heavily-armed officers quickly swooped in to make an arrest.
