The entire provincial government of Manitoba have been given little badges, and named ‘junior police constables’ for the day.
All 57 members of the province’s legislative assembly lined up proudly to receive the badges, which were handed out on in a special ceremony on Friday.
The little badges—actually stickers with a thin blue line on them— are only given to the ‘very bestest supporters of police,’ police spokesperson Lily LeBlanc told reporters.
As part of the day, MLA’s attended police briefings, and were even given rides in cruisers. While cabinet members were allowed to even blast the siren loudly for all to hear.
“It’s just our way of saying thank you for all your support, and funding, no matter what we do,” a police spokesperson said, an MLA on their shoulders and wearing their hat.
