‘Sure, there’s still boil-water advisories on reserves, but that India trip’: Canadians

Despite a string of broken promises, spirit-crushing legal defeats and a myriad of other disappointments for Indigenous Peoples, Canadians somehow say Trudeau’s trip to India has been the breaking point.

Multiple polls show the party losing support or trailing behind the Conservatives, led by Andrew Scheer.

“It doesn’t look like they’ll live up to their promise to bring clean drinking water to Indigenous communities and I don’t see any new legal framework for Indigenous rights like the Liberals said, but did you see the way Trudeau dressed in India?” said hundreds of thousands of Canadians on Wednesday.

“That whole India trip really has me rethinking the next election.”

An angry and confused Scheer told reporters he was considering legal action against the Liberals, since disappointing Indigenous communities is kind of his party’s thing.
