Whatever First Nations have already been saying loudly and clearly for decades is pretty much true I guess, according to a landmark, government-funded study.
“Although First Nations communities and people and media and even some white people have been saying this is true, our extensive research and this remarkable report now lay bare that yes, I guess what they were saying is true,” says Jerry Markel, the report’s lead author.
“And it’s all thanks to our tireless work.”
A spokesperson for the federal government said that while it is reviewing the findings of the report, more study is likely needed before action can be taken.
