Conspiracy theories of self-proclaimed ‘Indigenous Alex Jones’ turn out to all be true

An Indigenous woman hoping to cash in on the popularity of controversial media personalities like Alex Jones is throwing in the towel because every single one of her conspiracy theories is actually true.

Lisa Greyeyes – the fiery host of the podcast IndigiTruth – had produced just 13 episodes of what was supposed to be a weekly show when she gave up.

During the podcast, Greyeyes would shout conspiracies breathlessly like ones where she said Status Indians face the threat of extinction, that diseases considered dormant, like tuberculosis, will still plague Indigenous communities and that Canada would railroad Indigenous rights and buy a pipeline.

“I thought I would just spout these fantastical conspiracies, minus the hate and racism, and rake in the numbers—turns out they’re all true,” Greyeyes said. “How in the f*** am I supposed to compete with an even crazier reality?”

While the IndigiTruth podcast is being mothballed, Greyeyes said she’s not done with being in the public eye. With so many statistical reports published each year on Indigenous communities, Greyeyes said she’s planning to take that data and become a fake Indigenous psychic.
