Millions of Canadians find themselves suddenly unable to remember the name of Canada’s first Prime Minister, after a statue of Sir John A. MacDonald was taken down.
“We warned you,” said Leonard Bijela, president of the Canadians for the Preservation of History and Values.
“That statue was the only way Canadians can remember our first Prime Minister, whose name now escapes me.”
Bijela said no one thought to write the Prime Minister’s name or other important details down in books, documentaries, paintings or any other formats and now history will be erased forever.
The mass memory loss is just the latest in a string of maladies to befall Canadians following the statue’s removal. Thousands have also spontaneously combusted in the immediately after it came down.
