The death toll from the removal of a statue of Canada’s first Prime Minister continues to climb, officials announced on Wednesday.
Over 18,000 people are feared dead, many of them due to spontaneous combustion or what medical officials called ‘cranial explosions.’
“This is a tragedy the likes of which we have never seen,” said Gerald Krehky, a spokesperson for Quebec’s Emergency Health Department.
“I mean, except maybe in Residential Schools, I guess.”
There are fears the death toll could climb even higher if the practice of removing statues of controversial figures continues in other parts of the province or across the country.
