An Ottawa white man suffered ‘significant’ injuries after he was struck by the word genocide on Monday morning, eyewitnesses say.
“He was on his phone, walking down the street, when this word genocide comes barreling out of nowhere,” said Mel Zoyera, who watched the whole scene unfold.
“He didn’t have any physical injuries I could see but you could tell he was still really, really hurt.”
Paramedics were called to the scene at around 9 AM, where they found the man being attended to by passersby who were suddenly experts in what constitutes genocide. People in local businesses said they could hear the white man shouting in pain.

Authorities said this could be just one of dozens of incidents across Canada where white men, mostly older, are injured by the use of the word genocide — but are unphased by the act of genocide itself.
