World notes how politely inconvenienced Canadians level death threats against Indigenous people: report

It seems Canada’s reputation for politeness extends even to the countless death threats slightly inconvenienced citizens are levelling against Indigenous people who are standing up for their rights.

That’s according to a new report from the New York-based Global Media Studies Institute, which was released on Monday.

“They may not say please or thank you when they go on Facebook and threaten to mow down demonstrators in their pickup trucks because they had to take a 10-minute detour around a rally,” the report says.

“But you can just tell they’re probably sipping a double-double and thinking it when they type.”

While the report primarily analyzed death threats, the authors also suggest that even horrifically racist diatribes also bear the adorable politeness so typical of Canadians.
